Public Art is another area that we find fascinating. As with most things that relate to the public realm, it generates it’s fair share of controversy, not least within our office. There are strong arguments for the use of public art and there are many very successful projects but to balance these successes there are instances where public art leaves itself open to criticism. The process of commissioning and selecting an artist is complex and beyond almost any other subject, views about the final result is subjective. So in the spirit of opinion that permeates the blog philosophy we intend to post examples, both official and unofficial that we think are particularly interesting. Please feel free to disagree.
