park(ing)
Maybe it’s because I grew up watching the Two Ronnies but I love a pun, so when I came across this example of Park(ing) by the art group Rebar it really appealed. It’s a brilliantly simple idea that addresses so many of the debates that occur within the public realm. The dominance of the car, the need for green spaces, the balance of man made verses nature. On top of this it’s difficult to object to as it pays it’s way. They have run micro landscape design competitions which have extended to concept and it makes you think what else the ideas could be adapted to. Parking space beach anyone?
